Q.... Can you zoom and pan any other way

A.... You can use the mouse wheel to zoom in/out. To pan a zoomed image, you have two alternatives:
click the central mouse button (which is actually the wheel itself) and
drag, or hold the spacebar key pressed while you click and drag. Both
ways are much more accurate and faster than dragging the scroll bars at
the right and bottom sides of the image window.

Q.... Why did you not use a preview on the image

A....HDR wavelet transform does give accurate results with previews
