When you first open Pixinsight you will notice that its look and use is different from other packages ! But don't worry its not difficult and with a little practice and you will wonder what the fuss was about To start with we will look at the comonley used icon and tool bars |

How to use STD Icons on each processes and panelsThe applcation and use of the tools may be different to what you are used to , but it is not difficult and it will soon become second nature Not all tools have all the Icons and are relative to the process selected |

A) New instanceThis has several uses being 1 ) Drag to your image and the process will applied to that image 2) Drag to desk top and a process Icon will be saved with the cuurent settings, very useful for things like complicated DBE settings
B) Std ApplyWhen clicked upon will apply the process to your selected image
C) Real Time PreviewIf you select this a new tempoary image showing real time alterations, when happy with your settings close it down and apply to the Image
D) Track ViewWhen selected the processl will follow your selected image , handy when you have multiple images open
F) resetAs it says resets process to its default settings
E) Global ApplyUse this when you need to apply the process to multiple images i.e when using the star alighnment process |

G) Image menuRight click to gain acces to image menu being 1) workspace - send image to different workspace 2) Iconize / shade / maximise / update 3) Stay on top 4) close H) Image idOther than image id you can 1) Drag id to desktop to create clone of origanal Image 2) Drag id to another image to use as a mask 3) double click to rename I) Zoom Controls
J) Image display optionsThese being from left to right Iconize / shade / maximise / close When your image is iconised |
