I have been hunting for a flattener to go with my equinox scopes as I hoped I could use them for imaging , which I tried without a flattener but the field curvature was very pronounced and made things very difficult , As the first image shows

I brought the TS flattener from the telescope service in germany who were very helpful and cost me £ 200.

It was installed in front of my sxvm25 with the sx OA guider unit in between the two, the long 110mm focus of the flattener enabling the use of such items like filter wheels.

As you can see from the image on the right the image is very flat and I was thrilled with the result.

!).ADVANTAGES

1) long focus length allows for use of things like filter wheels and OA units

2) Does what it says on the tin very well

3) Is full 2" to reduce vignetting

4) Is not a reducer

5) Useful with various scopes from f5 to f7.5

 DISADVANTAGES

1) Is not a reducer

2) Is not cheap

I have tried other flatteners and the TS runs rings round them and even though £200 is not cheap I intend to use it with my equinox 80mm and 120mm so that's only £100 each ( bargain
